Belfast company SHS Group is celebrating the acquisition of two major household names within the past seven months.

And the consumer goods group said it had worked closely with Danske Bank to buy Standard Brands UK, the owner of firelighters such as Zip and Sunny Jim.

Danske also backed the firm's purchase of 3V Group, which owns butter brand Meridian and soft drink producer Rocks.

SHS Group has a turnover of over £460m and employs over 900 people. Pre-tax profits of £24.8m place it at number 16 in the Belfast Telegraph Top 100 Companies 2018.
