Trade and investment advisory firm OCO Global has announced the opening of a new office in Shanghai.
The Belfast-based firm has formed a partnershp with market entry specialist Aventura as part of the move. OCO Global said the expansion would enable it so support economies to attract investment from China, while building relationships with the Chinese Government and companies.
Chief executive Mark O'Connell said: "We are very excited to open our new office in Shanghai and establish a new partnership with Aventura, growing our operations in China to support our clients across the region.
"Our investment plans were put on temporary hold during the current crisis, but we are fully convinced of the long-term prospects of China as both a source and as a destination of FDI, and the opportunities it presents for international trade.
"Our commitment to this expansion and our great local team demonstrates the region's importance."
He said that as China emerges from Covid-19 it would seek to integrate more with the global economy and increase market access for international companies. "Furthermore, the government's next five-year plan (2021-25) encourages Chinese companies to internationalise and pursue global expansion," he added.
OCO Global also has offices in London, Europe, United States, Dubai and Tokyo.
