The second phase of a £10.5m major private housing development in the Village area of south Belfast is under way.

Developer Hagan Homes, based in Ballyclare, said the second stage will produce 14 new three-bedroom semi-detached properties, with prices starting from £145,000.

The project will ultimately produce 76 upmarket houses built in the Kitchener Drive and Frenchpark Street, an area with a history of poor housing.

All 24 houses built since June 2018 for the Seventy Six South development have been sold.

The project is expected to be completed by 2022.

Hagan Homes said around 50 construction jobs have been created so far during work on the houses.

The developer said it has been encouraged by the speed the houses have sold to date.
