Boucher set to take chairman role at building materials company CRH
CRH has appointed ex-Bank of Ireland boss Richie Boucher as its next chairman.
Mr Boucher (61), who joined the board in 2018, will take over from Nicky Hartery on January 1, 2020.
Earlier this year it was reported that Andrew Keating, outgoing chief financial officer at Bank of Ireland, is to join CRH. Mr Keating had been seen as a potential successor to Mr Boucher at the bank until the appointment of current Bank of Ireland CEO Francesca McDonagh in 2017.
Meanwhile Senan Murphy, financial director at CRH, is also a Bank of Ireland veteran, having served as chief operating officer.
At CRH's annual general meeting in April Mr Boucher defended the pay structure for the company's CEO Albert Manifold, who earned a total of €8.2m last year, telling shareholders that the pay reflected the group's performance and scale.
CRH has also appointed Johan Karlström as a non-executive director.
