Braidwater 'frustrated' at plan delay
Building firm Braidwater has said it is "extremely disappointed and frustrated" as it accused Derry City and Strabane District Council of delaying 240 new homes in the area.
The Drumahoe project, which Braidwater said would bring up to 80 construction jobs, has outline planning permission with recommendation for approval from the planning department.
Braidwater claimed the council's planning committee had put a decision "on hold". The council was not available for comment.
A Braidwater spokesman said: "We fully understand and appreciate due process...
"However, a speedy resolution is required on this matter to ensure any loss of economic investment and potential job losses are avoided. We would ask for local elected representatives and the council to show leadership and move the process forward quickly and approve the project without delay."
Braidwater Ltd is based in Eglinton.
