Derry wind farm bought for £163m

By Staff Reporter

A Co Londonderry wind farm has been snapped up by fund Greencoat UK Wind in a £163m cash deal.

Brockaghboy near the city was built by Italian firm ERG and TCI Renewables, and started operating last month. It's Greencoat's fifth wind farm here.

Chairman Tim Ingram said: "It is great to start 2018 with the acquisition of a 100% ownership stake in a new, good-sized, very high load factor wind farm from very experienced developers."

He said the secondary market in wind farms "remains active", with more expected to change hands.
