Disney Cruise Line dropping anchor in Belfast for the first time next year

By Andrew Madden

Disney Cruise Line has confirmed it will be docking in Belfast Harbour for the first time next year.

Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and a host of other Disney stars - plus 3,650 passengers and crew - will visit the city in the autumn.

The luxury liner Disney Magic is painted in Mickey Mouse-inspired colours - black and white with yellow trim and two red funnels. It is visiting Belfast as part of a seven-night cruise of the British Isles.

Belfast Harbour's Tony McAuley said: "We continue to be committed to bringing cruise ships and tourists to Northern Ireland - and adding Disney Cruise Line to the global brands which already call in Belfast is a testament to the tourism offer and the facilities we have in Belfast Harbour."

Last week Belfast Harbour announced that 2018 would be a record season, with more than 200,000 passengers predicted.
