EU contracts allow Northern Ireland training firm to create eight new roles

Training and consultancy agency, People 1st, has won two European Social Fund programme contracts that will allow it to maintain its eight staff and create a further eight roles.

Established in 2002, the organisation provides vocational training, corporate training, essential skills and consultancy advice across Northern Ireland.

It also delivers a number of vocational programmes for the Department for Economy (DfE) Apprenticeship and Training for Success Programmes.

It has offices in Belfast, Lisburn, Portadown, Lurgan and Newry.

Ronan Heenan, director of People 1st, said: "These new contracts are important.

"They also enable us to continue to grow the organisation by taking on eight staff."
