First Derivatives founder Brian Conlon to be laid to rest
"He had a brilliant mind." An associate sums up First Derivatives founder Brian Conlon, whose funeral takes place tomorrow.
The technology plc had announced in May that Mr Conlon was suffering from cancer. However, his death just two months later has taken the business world by surprise.
In 2015 Mr Conlon was named Businessperson of the Year in the Belfast Telegraph Business Awards. Economist John Simpson, chair of the judging panel, said: "There was no doubt that he deserved the award for setting up an IT firm in NI which had broken new ground internationally."
The father-of-two's funeral takes place in Newry's St Patrick's and St Colman's tomorrow at 1pm, followed by burial in Monkshill Cemetery.
