French Village serves up £850k expansion
A family-run Belfast bakery and catering firm has expanded in an investment of nearly £1m with the creation of 10 new jobs.
French Village Bakery is also hiring four new apprentices as it expands its catering division in a £850,000 project supported by Danske Bank. The French family's business started in 1981 from a bakery in Stranmillis.
It later moved production to Montgomery Road and now has coffee shops on Botanic Avenue and Lisburn Road.
French Village Bakery director Ashley French said it felt like a "natural progression" to start catering at bigger events.
Ian Beatty, business acquisition manager at Danske Bank, added: "French Village Bakery is one of the most recognisable names in the hospitality sector in Northern Ireland.
"This investment marks a key milestone in the company's history as it diversifies its product offering into larger corporate events."
