Andras Hotels boss Rajesh Rana has been voted into a second term as president of Belfast Chamber.

In his first term, Mr Rana, who runs seven hotels in the city, saw membership of the influential business body grow by 25%.

However his tenure was dominated by the fallout from the Primark fire in late August 2018, which had a major impact on trade in the city centre.

Speaking after he was returned at the chamber's AGM, he said: "It has been a very busy year and I am proud that alongside our executive council that we have faced the challenges presented by the Bank Buildings fire and we made our commitment to giving a voice to retailers, restauranteurs and all businesses affected to support Belfast in this period.

"I have made it my commitment to build on the already excellent work of my predecessors and senior executive council members to further cement relationships, to lobby alongside them on pertinent issues that face our city and to build a strong strategy for the future of Belfast Chamber."
