Hughes Insurance takes on 20 new employees
Co Down firm Hughes Insurance is taking on 20 new staff to support its growing personal insurance business, the firm has said.
Hughes, now part of US-giant Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, said it was aiming to expand its share of the brokerage market in Northern Ireland.
Last year the company announced it was making 24 roles redundant and closing six of its 11 branches.
A spokeswoman said the firm is now taking on staff across its five remaining branches in Belfast, Coleraine, Londonderry, Glengormley and Portadown. It also has headquarters in Newtownards.
David Egan, appointed Hughes' chief executive earlier this year, said that its performance over the last six months "together with forecast growth in 2018, has resulted in a commitment to invest in 20 new full-time employees".
It now employs around 220 people.
