Importance of Northern Ireland infrastructure under spotlight

A new scheme is aiming to help educate the public about the importance of infrastructure and how it affects Northern Ireland on a daily basis.

Infra2018 is a year-long initiative with the underlying theme as "how social and economic infrastructure makes NI liveable".

Richard Kirk, regional director of the Institution of Civil Engineers, said: "It (infrastructure) is everywhere we look, and the kind of things we take for granted, including water, power supply, roads, schools, hospitals, bridges and railways."
