INM names Doorly as group chief executive
Belfast Telegraph publisher Independent News & Media (INM) has confirmed the appointment of Michael Doorly as group chief executive officer (CEO) with immediate effect.
Dr Len O'Hagan, a native of Rostrevor, Co Down, has been appointed as INM's senior independent director, and Mary Gallagher has been appointed as company secretary.
INM chairman Leslie Buckley said: "I am very pleased on behalf of the board and the company that we are making this important announcement.
"I wish Len O'Hagan, Michael Doorly and Mary Gallagher every success in their new roles."
The appointments were confirmed in a notice to the Irish Stock Exchange yesterday.
Mr Doorly has been with INM, which also publishes Sunday Life and the Irish Independent, for more than 20 years, holding a number of senior executive posts.
Most recently he had acted as INM company secretary and chief risk officer.
A native of Mount Merrion in Dublin, he took over initially as interim CEO following the departure of the previous CEO Robert Pitt last week.
Dr O'Hagan has been a non-executive director of INM since 2012.
He is chairman of Northern Ireland Water, vice president of global affairs at the Royal College of Physicians, and chairman of the All-island Congenital Heart Disease Network board.
Ms Gallagher was previously group finance and treasury manager at INM.
