InterTradeIreland event to have £500m worth of contracts

By Staff Reporter

Contracts worth of up to £500m will be on the table when cross-border body InterTradeIreland hosts a meet the buyer event next week.

InterTradeIreland described the event as "a chance for SMEs to build connections with public sector buyers". Suppliers will have the chance to hold meetings with key buyers from organisations - a move which InterTrade said would encourage more firms to take up opportunities in public procurement.

Attendees will include the Education Authority, which has a budget of around £98m for supplies and services. Translink also has a budget of £70m for supplies and non-infrastructure services and a further £80m for purposes including construction works, services and maintenance. NI Water has an initial £50m budget with more to be announced for sewage and network services. The event takes place in Armagh's City Hotel on Wednesday, June 13.
