Irish department store Guineys 'to open first Northern Ireland store'
Irish department store Guineys is opening up in the former BHS premises in Belfast city centre, it has been reported.
The budget chain is moving into a smaller, 21,700 sq ft unit in the site which used to house the budget department store in Castle Place.
According to The Irish News, Guineys will open in Belfast in late November, creating up to 20 jobs.
Guineys is a mid-market department store specialising in homewares, menswear, womenswear and children's clothing. The Castle Place opening will be its first in Northern Ireland. It already has 10 stores in the Republic.
BHS closed in August 2016 with the loss of 57 jobs.
It has been rumoured Boots was considering moving into the building.
Guineys has been approached for a comment.
