Kerr's Tyres creating 20 jobs with new headquarters
A major supplier of tyres and car services is creating 20 new jobs in a £2.5m investment as it aims to double its sites.
Kerr's Tyres and Auto in Antrim is investing in a new headquarters with a distribution and retail centre, bringing the total number of staff to 100. The building is due for completion in August.
The family business was set up in 2002 and is owned by managing director Norman Kerr.
It has nine tyre and auto services centres on the island.
The firm has four branches in the Republic, following the acquisition of Auto Tyre Services in Dublin this year and the opening of two additional centres in Donabate and Ballymount.
Last year it acquired M&S Tyres in Enniskillen to increase its presence in the west of the province. It also has branches in Antrim, Belfast, Coleraine and Newtownards.
Mr Kerr said: "Our recent acquisitions and continued reinvestment in the company are part of an ongoing growth strategy to operate from 20 sites throughout the UK and Ireland by 2022."

He also stressed that the new headquarters would provide a base for ambitious growth. "As we continue to grow, so too does our need for suitably qualified and skilled staff," Mr Kerr added.
"A major part of this investment is creating a site where we can recruit and train staff with the skills required to address the needs of our rapidly expanding business."
Ryan Mawhinney, senior relationship manager at Ulster Bank, said the business had expanded through "sound investment".
"Ulster Bank is pleased to have supported Norman and the team as the business continues to build on a reputation 17 years in the making," he added.
