The co-founder of women's equality organisation Lean In has visited members in Belfast.

Rachel Thomas, who set up the organisation with Facebook chief operating officer Sheryl Sandberg, addressed around 130 business leaders here as part of her tour of Lean In networks in Europe.

Belfast's Lean In has grown to over 3,000 members in five years - and during Ms Thomas' visit, members shared stories of how the organisation has helped them succeed.

Nuala Murphy, entrepreneur and founder of Lean In Belfast, said she was thrilled to meet Ms Thomas after meeting Sheryl Sandberg during her visit to Dublin in January.

"We are standing proud alongside our colleagues throughout Europe and, indeed, the world, to work towards equality in our workplaces," she said.

"By encouraging and empowering women to achieve their business goals, Lean In provides a supportive, nurturing network."
