A new £1.25m day care facility able to accommodate 108 children has launched in Lisburn.

Clearly Kids on Bridge Street, in the former Wallace Restaurant building, is the eighth site for Clear Day Nurseries.

It will offer day care facilities for children aged six weeks to 12 years.

The new site makes the company the largest nursery chain in Northern Ireland. Clear Day Nurseries launched in 2005 and today offers facilities in Belfast, Dundonald, Portadown, Newtownabbey, Lurgan and Bangor looking after almost 750 children.

Following the opening of its new site, the company now employs more than 246 staff across the group, 40 of which are based in the Lisburn facility.

Audrey McCracken, operations director of Clear Day Nurseries, said: "We had been looking for the right location and the Bridge Street site had everything we wanted.

"Perfectly placed just off the M1 roundabout, it is ideal for commuting parents yet situated right on the banks of the Lagan it also provides a proximity to nature that not many city locations do."
