All-island angel investors HBAN have passed the milestone of investing €100m (£86m) in start-ups on both sides of the border.

Northern Ireland companies to benefit include Belfast-based haircare brand We Are Paradoxx, which has raised £1.5m, including £0.58m from HBAN Ulster. HBAN said approximately 150 companies pitch to its investors each year, with around 50 receiving funding as a result.

John Phelan, all-island director, HBAN, said reaching €100m after hitting the €50m (£43m) mark four years ago "reflects the energetic start-up culture across our cities and regions".

HBAN is part-funded by InterTradeIreland and Invest NI.
