NI food and drink companies celebrate overseas trade deals worth over £400k
Four Northern Ireland food and drink firms with products ranging from coconut water to oysters have won new overseas business worth over £400,000.
Niche Drinks in Londonderry, B Free in Co Armagh, CocoMojo in Lisburn and Kilkeel firm Rooney Fish will be supplying products to China, the United Arab Emirates and Europe.
They have received food business development guidance and advice from economic development agency Invest NI.
Its director of trade Alison Gowdy said: "This is a fantastic result for Northern Ireland's biggest manufacturing industry and showcases the increasing appetite around the world for Northern Ireland food and drink."
Rooney Fish will be shipping its Mill Bay oysters to Hong Kong in a £50,000 deal. Niche Drinks will send Quiet Man Irish Whiskey and Irish Cream Liqueurs to Russia under a £340,000 contract.
And Coco Mojo will send its coconut water to China in a £10,000 deal.
B Free, which is based in Dublin and has operations in Crossmaglen, will send its gluten-free foods to the United Arab Emirates in a £50,000 deal.
Niche Drinks finance director Robin Young said: "Our long-term growth plans are progressing well and we continue to focus on building our export sales."
