NI housebuilder on Fast Track 100 list for second year
A Co Londonderry house building firm has been named in the Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100 for the second year in a row.
Braidwater, which ranks 55th nationally, is the only Northern Irish company in the league table, which ranks the UK's private companies with the fastest-growing sales.
Set up by managing director Joe McGinnis and his father Patrick McGinnis, Braidwater has secured three rounds of investment from growth-capital firm BGF to help it build more homes across Northern Ireland.
Over the past three years, sales have grown by an average of 58% a year, reaching £34.9m in 2019.
Last year, three other firms were named alongside Braidwater in the list, which ranked 45th.
They were the specialist printer Eakin, based in Craigavon, Co Armagh and two Newry-based companies, fit-out firm mac Group and the sandwich and food-to-go company, Around Noon.
Sir Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Group, which has supported Fast Track 100 for all 23 years, said: "While these are uncertain times, there is one thing I am certain of: entrepreneurs are the ones driving innovation, chasing improvements and challenging the norm. There are so many inspiring examples of this."
