NI technology firm Locate A Locum links up with Superdrug in 'digital revolution'
A Northern Ireland technology firm that helps locum pharmacists find work in pharmacies has said it's now working with UK chain Superdrug.
Locate A Locum, a winner at this month's Belfast Telegraph IT Awards, said its six developers have been working with Superdrug to kickstart the industry's digital revolution.
It has also worked with other pharmacy chains like Boots, Well, Rowlands and Lloyds.
Its work with Superdrug means its system has been adopted in 230 of its pharmacy outlets around the UK, though the business only has retail outlets in Northern Ireland.
The company has also raised £1m from investors, and in total now works with 8,000 pharmacists operating in 5,000 pharmacies. Chief executive Jonathon Clarke said: "2019 has been our best year to date, with the launch of our Workforce Management Platform in Superdrug stores and our continued success in placing healthcare professionals in shifts across the UK.
"Receiving the Belfast Telegraph Small IT Team of the Year award is great recognition for all our work to date.
"Our recent investment will help us grow our team and expand our offering outside pharmacy in to wider healthcare markets."

The company is also actively recruiting to fill six jobs.
At the moment it has 17 staff. It's recruiting to fill the roles of recruitment manager, quality assurance engineer, marketing executive, recruitment consultant and office manager.
And as well as its day-to-day work with UK chains, it's also developed enterprise solutions allowing chains like Superdrug to drive operational efficiency and streamline staff administration through a workforce management platform.
The company said: "Locate A Locum has managed to solve an age old problem for medical professionals by pairing them with their desired working location.
"Our platform has made a positive impact on the lives of its users, allowing them greater flexibility, the ability to manage their diaries and to keep track of payments that they are due to receive.
"Not only has our technology been well received by pharmacists, we also boast fantastic feedback from national pharmacy chains."
