Northern Ireland is 'number one region for business growth' in the UK
Northern Ireland has been ranked the number one UK region for business growth in research by equity investor BGF.
The investor said that the strong performance of a group of high-potential businesses with combined turnover growth of £1.4bn had propelled the province to the top of UK regions.
BGF said it had identified close to 400 high potential companies in the province, 81% of which have increased their revenues during the last three years.
That gave Northern Ireland the highest proportion of growing companies in the UK.
Paddy Graham, head of Central Scotland and Northern Ireland at BGF, said firms here had outstripped their peers in the rest of the UK despite Brexit uncertainties and the lack of local government in Stormont.
