O'Hare and McGovern begins work on £5m car showroom in Newry
Newry construction firm O'Hare and McGovern has won the contract to build Shelbourne Motors' new £5m car showroom in Newry.
The company has already begun work on the Clarman Architects-designed 50,000 sq ft development, which will include car showrooms, new car handover bays, a lounge-style waiting area with cafe and a drive-thru service centre with a 28-bay service workshop.
Martin Lennon, managing director of O'Hare and McGovern, said: "We're absolutely delighted to have won the contract to build this new state-of-the-art showpiece facility. It strengthens our relationship with Shelbourne Motors which stretches back more than 40 years, and it is also a huge economic boost for the city, and the wider Newry area."
The new showroom will open next summer and create 60 new jobs. It will sell new and used Renault and Kia vehicles. Caroline Willis, financial director, described the facility as a "significant milestone" for the company.
