Sauce maker relishing the future as new factory opens
A Co Down sauce company has invested £0.8m in a new factory to help meet demand from supermarkets.
Prep House in Crossgar, which specialises in mayonnaise, dressings and marinades, was founded in 1999 by Paul and David Bell.
It employs 20 staff but is increasing its workforce by one-fifth as part of the expansion, which was supported by Danske Bank. It's also hoping to break into new markets, including the Republic.
Managing director Paul Bell said: "We have decided to build our new 10,000 sq ft factory after winning new contracts with some of the biggest multinational supermarkets.
"We had outgrown our old premises but with the new factory we have also taken the opportunity to upgrade our production capabilities with new filling, labelling and cooking equipment."
Danske Bank business manager Ian Moore said the team had a clear vision for the business and "a strategy which ensures the company reaches its full potential".
