Shadow chancellor McDonnell meets Northern Ireland business leaders
Labour has been urged to publish its policy priorities for the Northern Ireland economy after meeting with one of biggest business lobby groups here.
Shadow chancellor John McDonnell met Trade NI in Belfast yesterday with Brexit, business rates and infrastructure high on the agenda.
The business coalition, made up of Manufacturing NI, Hospitality Ulster and Retail NI, said it outlined its ideas to "reboot" economic policy in Northern Ireland to the senior Labour front bencher.
"We made it very clear of the importance of getting a EU withdrawal deal and avoiding the damaging scenario of a no-deal Brexit," the business alliance said in a statement.
"Labour Party MPs have a key role in ensuring that Parliament does not allow the UK to crash out without a deal."
