convenience retailer SuperValu - part of Musgrave Group - has said it's boosted its Christmas food offering by nearly 24%.

The chain has now launched a Signature Tastes range for Christmas, including wines and spirits, party foods and desserts, fresh meats, side dishes, cheese and condiments.

Musgrave also owns Centra and Mace, and said it's spending an additional £120m on food and drink from Northern Ireland this year. There are around 35 SuperValu stores in the province.

Michael McCormack, Musgrave NI managing director, said: "We are proud to launch the new SuperValu Signature Tastes range, which offers a diverse range of fine produce.

"Christmas is a key time for retailers and we've increased our festive food offering this year by 24%, to ensure our customers have everything they need."
