Test equipment company invests millions in new Carrick factory

By Margaret Canning

A test equipment company in Co Antrim has opened a new factory in a multi-million pound investment.

Yelo makes equipment for testing and measuring the performance of lasers, radar systems and electronic products. Its customers include Cisco and Schneider Electric.

Now it's opened a 25,000 sq ft base at Trooperslane Industrial Estate in Carrickfergus after buying the 3.5 acre site from economic development agency Invest NI.

The agency has also offered Yelo nearly £0.25m towards the project. It's also been supported by Danske Bank.

Yelo managing director, Richard Furey, said: "We want to continue to increase market share in our target areas by developing new and complementary products.

"Our new facility will enable us to accommodate the additional staff and production levels we need to deliver this vision."
