Higher rates, costly service fees and more are jeopardising Airbnb’s reputation as the cheaper alternative to hotel stays.

Rates on the accommodation platform have risen as much as 45% for summer stays around the UK, with some basic coastal properties in NI costing more than £2,000 for a one-week stay for a basic semi-detached in Coleraine.
