US tech boss appointed to the board of Newry's First Derivatives
Newry software giant First Derivatives has appointed US-based Donna Troy to its board as a non-executive director with immediate effect.
Based in Austin, Texas, Ms Troy has extensive experience in both senior executive and non-executive roles within multi-national technology companies.
In the past Ms Troy has held sales leadership roles in organisations including IBM, McAfee, SAP, and Dell, delivering revenue and margin growth and implementing global go-to-market strategies, First Derivatives plc said.
Ms Troy currently holds non-executive roles at technology companies Pivot3 and TIBCO.
"I have been immensely impressed by First Derivatives' achievements to date and the potential of its Kx technology, and I am delighted to join the board at this exciting stage of the group's development," Ms Troy said.
Seamus Keating, chairman of First Derivatives, welcomed Ms Troy's appointment to the board, saying that her wealth of experience in scaling global enterprise software vendors "would be very valuable as First Derivatives executes the next phase of its growth plans".
In November last year the Newry-based company announced that its Kx technology had been selected by Red Bull Racing to analyse sensor data from its Formula 1 vehicles.
It is intended that Red Bull Racing will use Kx technology for a range of purposes including wind tunnel experiments and the analysis of in-race data to enable real-time decisions during Grand Prix races.
Kx technology is a high-performance database, which is able to capture, integrate and analyse vast quantities of data to provide real-time actionable insights.
