Farmer and ex-MLA John McAllister has said he hopes the Assembly can be restored.
Mr McAllister, who co-founded political party NI21, spoke in his new role as manager of the Land Mobility Programme, which helps retiring farmers find successors.
In an interview with Business Telegraph, he said: "People, whatever sector you are in, whether it's agriculture or health or education, recognise we need decisions to be made.
"For example, we need the Assembly when it comes to decisions about Brexit. Like what will the movement of farming produce across the border look like in a post-Brexit world?"
