PR agency plants idea for growth by putting down roots at allotment

County Down public relations consultancy Morrow Communications is diversifying into the world of vegetable growing.

The firm believes it is the first Northern Ireland business to provide an allotment at Vista Allotments for its employees. The idea stems from research which proved the positive effects of gardening on well-being.

Managing director Peter Morrow says: ''Business can be stressful enough these days with too much time spent indoors. The idea behind the allotment is to give our people the chance to chill-out by 'growing their own' together -- team building with mud on their boots!''

''The weather so far this summer has been brilliant -- making it the perfect time to start a project like this,'' says communications consultant Nicola Adamson.

''It is so peaceful at the allotment and really satisfying to work together to build something from scratch.

"The team has enjoyed learning how to grow our own fruit and vegetables and we can't wait to sample the fruits of our labour in the coming months,'' Nicola added.

Vista Allotments was established in 2002 and now has almost 150 allotment holders.
