Machine learning and artificial intelligence are advancing at a tremendous pace, redefining the role of professionals in the workplace.  So what impact will this have for accountants and finance professionals in the future?

Chartered Accountants Ulster Society will host Are you Digital Ready? - Digital Disruption & What It Means for You, a half-day conference sponsored by event partner Danske Bank on November 15 at the Titanic Hotel in Belfast, to look at the effects of digital disruption.

The conference will examine the potential impact of digital technologies and the latest thinking from industry experts on what it might mean for the accounting profession and how best professionals can adapt for the future.

The conference will hear from a range of experts in Digital Disruption, including Andrea Coffey of Google on the impact of technology in the next decade.  Amongst others, delegates will also hear from Seamus Cushley and Tony Price of PwC, Mark Thompson of A&L Goodbody and Andy Harbison of Grant Thornton.

Topics covered at the Conference will include Big Data, Cybersecurity and GDPR.  Delegates will have the opportunity to ask questions of an industry panel during a busy morning of debate and analysis, all chaired by Steve Orr of Catalyst Inc.

Ulster Society chairman, Niall Harkin said: “Digital disruption is happening all around us and the pace of change is accelerating. This event will be specifically tailored to examine how it will impact on Accounting and Finance professionals, whether in practice or in industry. This will be an important and worthwhile event for anyone working in finance who wants to get ahead of the changes which are transforming business forever.”
