Skullcandy Knockout Headphones

Celebrate National Inspire Your Heart With Art Day on Sunday by investing in one of these great devices.

Hear this

Skullcandy Knockout Headphones, £89.99, from www.skullcandy.co.uk

These have specifically been created for women - and we're not talking about the attractive design on the cans.

With research suggesting that men and women hear differently, these over-the-ears headphones feature audio drivers which are tuned specifically to women's hearing.

We'll leave the scientific bit to Skullcandy, but they definitely do offer up a good sound, and the size and fit of both the pads and headband are extremely comfortable.

Oh, and yes, with floral print and shiny embellishments, are pretty, too. Very artistic.

A work of art

Wacom Intuos Art Pen & Touch, from £74.99, from www.wacom.com

Take the artistic gadget theme literally and invest in this wonderful pen and touch tablet to create digital art.

Connect the pad to your computer, use the software and get creating.

If you're an expert, just dive right into the various functions including sketching, drawing and painting.

If you're new to it, use the online tutorials (free 30 day access to both Lynda.com and Video2Brain) to receive expert help. The pen is lightweight and the touchpad super sensitive.

Mighty mouse

Logitech Play Collection, £19.90, from Logitech.com

When is a mouse not a mouse? When it's a monkey, fox or other animal.

Logitech's Play Collection comes in nine different designs, all of which are very pretty on the eye.

If animals aren't your thing, there are zig-zag and geometric designs, too.

Yet these mice don't just start and end with a lovely arty exterior, despite their small size, they pack a punch.

You'll be able to control your device with it, too, even if you're sitting up to 33ft away, thanks to a strong Nano receiver.

Charged up

PNY Powerpack T2600, £10.99, from www.amazon.co.uk

There are lots of portable phone chargers on the market, but few are as dinky and lovely to look at as this one.

It's just 66 grams, so will easily fit in your bag/pocket and when it's full of juice, will charge up your phone if it dies on you when you're out and about.

In addition to the design, it's super cheap, making it a good choice if you're on a tight budget.

On the case

House of Holland x goo.ey Buggin Phone Case, £22.99, from www.houseofholland.co.uk

While there's a great array of smartphone cases out there, you wouldn't normally say they are a gadget. However, Goo.ey's is a little bit different. To touch, they feel like a normal case, but you can actually stick them (and so your phone) to shiny surfaces such as glass or mirrors.

Very useful if you want to take a hands-free selfie. So where does the artistic bit come in?

Goo.ey has also teamed up with House of Holland to create six cases, each featuring a bug themed cover.

We're particularly loving the Big Green Bug design.

Suitable for iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and Samsung S6.

Radio star

Pure Mini Moderns Whitby Pop Midi DAB/FM Bluetooth Portable Digital Radio, £89.95, from www.minimoderns.com

Ahoy there. Drop your anchor, there's a lovely digital radio straight ahead.

This radio comes with all the technology and great sound you'd expect from a Pure product, but it's wrapped up in this lovely nautical print.

Plug it in or charge it up (using either AA batteries or a Pure ChargePAK) and make the most of its FM and digital radio.

Alternatively, use it as a Bluetooth speaker. There's a larger 'Maxi' version (£109.99), but the midi version is that little bit more convenient for slotting into a shelf without taking up too much room.

App of the week

Autodesk SketchBook, free, available from iTunes and Google Play

It's time to get creative with this drawing application which comes with various (digital) pens, pencils, brushes and markers, so you can create a real work of art on your tablet with ease.
