Belfast Harbour, which celebrates 175 years in 2022, is the principal maritime gateway for Northern Ireland and owner of the 2,000 acre harbour estate.

It’s a core asset to the Northern Ireland economy, and despite the challenges of the last two years, handled a record 25.6 million tonnes of cargo in 2021, including more than 730k freight units, and welcomed 1.5 million passengers.
Over 130 cruise calls are expected at Belfast Harbour this year, as it continues to support the recovery of tourism.
The Harbour Estate is also home to commercial and residential real estate, including the recently completed City Quays 3, one of the largest new build commercial office developments to be built in Belfast.
Companies in sectors such as financial and IT services, R&D, film production, engineering, ship repair and aerospace manufacturing, employ more than 27,000 people within Belfast Harbour. The Harbour Estate is also at the centre of Belfast’s innovation district. It has continued its programme of port infrastructure and estate development, investing more than £43m in capital projects.
