Westland is a market leading manufacturer of gardening products. It was set up in 1990 and started out with the creation of compost blends for UK gardeners.

It it now manufactures and supplies a wide range of gardening items including lawn seed and feed, plant feed, flower and vegetable seeds, weedkillers and pest control, garden tools, watering equipment, propagation, and wild bird feed, feeders and hardware. Brands include Gro-Sure, Aftercut, Unwins, Resolva, Kent & Stowe, Peckish and Gardman.
With a turnover of £254m for the present tax year, the owner-managed company has 849 employees across nine sites in Northern Ireland, the wider UK and Republic. Its head office is based in Dungannon. Westland also operates in Germany, Poland, Austria and in Switzerland.
Westland describes itself as “a forward-thinking company delivering a green growth plan, which promotes wildlife, boosts wellbeing, and continues to work hard to make its products and packaging more environmentally friendly.” Westland’s sustainable growing media strategy has resulted in the portfolio being 80% peat-free in 2022.
