Television and radio station operator UTV this year celebrated its 50 year anniversary. As well as owning the ITV franchise for Northern Ireland, UTV owns 24 radio stations in the Republic and Great Britain.
The company’s latest profit update for the first 10 months of 2009 said the group had experienced an overall revenue decline of 8%. However, it said that while the difficult economic environment continued to impact upon advertising revenue, the rate of decline is easing in all of its markets. Television revenue was down most but had picked up in the last few months of 2009, it said.
UTV acquired radio station FM104 and web services company Tibus in 2008 and published sport magazine for the first time in June last year.Contact Us
