Citigroup to reveal new Dublin jobs

Citigroup, a US bank which employs around 2,700 people in Belfast, is set to announce hundreds of new jobs in Dublin as part of a major global hiring plan.

The multinational company confirmed it is planning to recruit around 2,500 programmers this year across its unit which houses traders and investment bankers.

Citigroup said the new roles will be filled across a number of its most important locations, including London, New York, Shanghai, Toronto, Tel Aviv, Pune and Chennai in India, Florida and Dublin.

A spokeswoman said it expects hundreds of the new roles to be based in Dublin.
