Eddie Jordan 'to join Top Gear' with Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc

Ex-Formula one boss and BBC pundit Eddie Jordan is reportedly to be named as a new presenter of Top Gear alongside Chris Evans and the recently confirmed Matt LeBlanc.

The Radio Times has reveled the 67-year-old will sign a contract within days with sources telling the magazine it remains only a formality.

He will join Matt LeBlanc, Chris Evans, racing driver Sabine Schmitz and journalist Chris Harris for the show which is expected to broadcast on May 8.

Jordan, from Dublin, was an F1 team boss from 1991 to 2005 and gave Eddie Irvine his debut ride in the sport in Japan in 1993.

He also employed champions Damon Hill, Nigel Mansell and Michael Schumacher.

Top Gear is being relaunched following the controversial departure of Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond.

The trio are currently working on a new programme for Amazon.
