Brit Award-winning singer Emeli Sandé will be taking to the Belfast stage at Custom House Square on Wednesday.

As part of a series of gigs at the city centre venue, Emeli will be performing hits from her 2012 album Our Version of Events as well as tracks from her 2016 record Long Live the Angels.

Ahead of the much anticipated gig, take a look through some of the star's best hits in recent years plus a glimpse through some random facts that you may, or may not, know about Emeli Sandé.

Top hits

1. Next To Me


Arguably Emeli's best known hit, Next To Me was released in 2012 as the third single from her debut album Our Version of Events.

The tracks reached number two in the UK singles chart and was also her first single to be released in the US where it hit number 25 in the Billboard Hot 100.

2. Heaven


Released in August 2011, Heaven was Emeli's debut single.

Praised by critics and loved by radio stations, the track reached number two in the UK singles chart.

3. Clown


Released in 2013 Clown was the fifth single from the Our Version of Events album.

Reflecting Emeli's first experiences of the music industry, the song reached number two in the UK singles chart.

4. Read All About It Pt III


This song was released as a sequel to Professor Green's 2011 hit Read All About It, which Emeli performed guest vocals.

This track was first performed at the 2012 Summer Olympics closing ceremony in London and reached number three in the UK singles chart.

5. My Kind of Love


Released in June 2012 as the fourth single from Emeli's Our Version of Events album, the track was also the second single she released in the US.

The song reached number 14 in the UK and number 17 in the US.

Bonus: Beneath Your Beautiful


Emeli performed as a guest vocalist on this Labrinth track, which she also co-wrote with the musician.

It was released as the sixth single from Labrinth's debut album, Electronic Earth, in October 2012 and peaked at number one on the UK Singles Chart.

Random facts

  1. Emeli has written songs for Rihanna, Katy Perry, Leona Lewis, Alesha Dixon, Cheryl Tweedy and Susan Boyle.
  2. Emeli's father Joel is from Zambia and her mother Diane is from England.
  3. She was born in Sunderland, England but moved to Aberdeenshire, Scotland when she was four.
  4. Emeli was actually born Adele Emily Sandé, but, understandably, she changed her name professionally as Adele was already taken.
  5. She wrote her first song when she was 11 years old.
