Classical: Soprano Ailish back in Belfast

The Belfast Music Society kicks off its International Festival of Chamber Music this evening with a recital by arguably Ireland's favourite soprano, Ailish Tynan.

She will be giving performances of songs by Brahms, Grieg, Faure and Debussy. Tickets cost £20/£17/£10.

Tomorrow at 1.30pm in the Great Hall, pianist Llyr Williams will give a concert of music by Schumann, Tchaikovsky and Scriabin. Tickets cost £15/£13/£10.

London Mozart Players perform Mozart's Quintet for Piano and Winds and other chamber works on Saturday, at 7.30pm.

Brilliant Corners Jazz Festival, Black Box, Belfast

Moving on Music, that font of musical diversity, is presenting the best of jazz in its sixth annual Brilliant Corners Jazz Festival, from tomorrow night in the Black Box Belfast. The festival has a host of top stars from the jazz world, including Belfast's finest Blue Whale, Jim Mullen with The Ronnie Greer Organ Band and Sue Rynhart.
