007 producer, MGM 'suing over film'
James Bond producer Danjaq and MGM are reportedly taking action against Universal over upcoming spy movie Section 6.
They have started legal proceedings in the US in a bid to shut down the film, which they claim is a "James Bond knock-off", reported Deadline.
The court filing said: "This lawsuit concerns a motion picture project, in active development, featuring a daring, tuxedo-clad British secret agent, employed by 'His Majesty's Secret Service', with a 'licence to kill', and a 00 secret agent number on a mission to save England from the diabolical plot of a megalomaniacal villain.
"Most moviegoers would assume from that description alone that this lawsuit concerns the next James Bond picture. It does not."
Danjaq and MGM are also seeking damages.
Section 6 is said to be about the creation of Britain's MI6 spy agency, with filmmaker Joe Cornish attached to direct and British actor Jack O'Connell due to star.
Danjaq are currently working on the upcoming 24th James Bond movie, with Daniel Craig set to return as 007.
