Amy Adams is still set to play Janis Joplin on the big screen, with a planned film about the music star back on track after years in development.
The Man Of Steel actress was first linked to the part in 2010 but there has been little progress on the biopic about the late queen of rock 'n' roll, with various directors attached over the years.
However, Deadline reported that it is now getting closer to production, with filmmaker Jean-Marc Vallee tipped to direct and Amy still in line to star.
Vallee will get started on the movie - which has the working title of Get It While You Can - in the middle 2015.
The filmmaker recently directed Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto to Oscar glory in Dallas Buyers Club, and Reese Witherspoon, who stars in his new movie Wild, is now tipped for Academy Awards success.
Amy, who is expected to sing when she plays the troubled US singer, has previously admitted the part is a bit daunting.
"It's one of those that is scary to think about, but I often say, 'If it isn't scary, I shouldn't be doing it' so I'm typically scared before I start everything," said the actress.
