Affleck has plans for his stars

Ben Affleck wants his actors to live in a claustrophobic environment before they play hostages in his next film, according to reports.

The Town filmmaker's next directorial effort, Argo, is a cinematic re-creation of the Iranian hostage crisis of 1979.

The six actors playing the American diplomats, who were taken as hostages, will have to live in a "safe-house" for a fortnight before production so that they experience something of what it's like to be cooped-up, reported Vulture.

Ben won't just be director in the political thriller; he will also play CIA negotiator Tony Mendez who attempts to rescue the hostages.

Alan Arkin has reportedly signed on, with the rest of the cast to be announced shortly.
