Affleck heads into The Furnace
Casey Affleck is apparently in talks to play Christian Bale's screen sibling in Out Of The Furnace.
The I'm Still Here star is thought to have been up for the role, alongside Channing Tatum, Taylor Kitsch and Garrett Hedlund, in Scott Cooper's revenge thriller, reported Deadline.
Christian is on board as recently released prisoner Slim, who intends to get his life back on the straight and narrow, but gets drawn into a quest for revenge when his brother is murdered after getting involved in the gambling racket.
Zoe Saldana has reportedly joined the upcoming film as Slim's ex-wife.
Since his Oscar nominated turn in The Assassination Of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford, Casey had been winning acclaim in dark dramas Gone Baby Gone and The Killer Inside Me.
He made his directorial debut with documentary I'm Still Here, and is set to reunite with Brad Pitt in crime drama Cogan's Trade, which will be released later this year.
The 36-year-old is also lending his voice for 3D animation ParaNorman alongside John Goodman, Anna Kendrick and Kodi Smit-McPhee.
