Andrews still loves Sound Of Music
Dame Julie Andrews has crowned her own film The Sound Of Music as her favourite family movie of all time.
The Mary Poppins actress said that the 1965 musical movie, in which she starred as governess Maria, was too perfect for a remake.
She told The Huffington Post: "Everything is cyclical in Hollywood. They said they wouldn't make any more boxing movies, and then they made Rocky. There weren't many wonderful roles for women, and now there are many."
But asked who she would cast if The Sound Of Music, which she said was her favourite family movie of all time, was ever remade, she said: "I don't know if I could think of one. The original is just too perfect. I wouldn't want anyone to play the captain except Christopher Plummer.
"I would want all the kids back, too... I am still very good friends with them. We have become like a family. I simply couldn't choose another cast."
It was recently announced that Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson could be set to star in a film about the making of Mary Poppins.
