Angelina Jolie has admitted she had an "emotional breakdown" while she was shooting her directorial debut.
The Hollywood A-lister revealed her partner Brad Pitt found her sobbing in the shower while she was making In The Land Of Blood And Honey, which is up for a Golden Globe this weekend.
The 36-year-old Salt star said during a live video web chat with Marie Claire: "I had a complete emotional breakdown in the shower and Brad found me crying. I felt this huge responsibility and I felt very small. 'Who am I to take this on?' I had a complete meltdown."
Angelina, who has a brood of six children with Tree Of Life actor Brad, said becoming a director wasn't part of her plan but the story - a romance set against the backdrop of the Bosnian war - was one she really wanted to tell.
"I just wanted to tell this story and I ended up by default being the director," she said.
She added: "I didn't plan to become a director, and I still have trouble saying I'm a director."
In The Land Of Blood And Honey - which Angelina also wrote - has been nominated in the Best Foreign Language category at the Golden Globes.
It has been reported that Angelina and Brad will also be presenting a gong at the glitzy ceremony on Sunday.
