Aniston film fails to make top spot
Jennifer Aniston's new movie, Wanderlust, has failed to set the US box office alight.
The comedy about a stressed-out Manhattan couple searching for a new life - which reunites Jen with her Friends co-star Paul Rudd - opened in eighth place after taking in just 6.6 million dollars.
The weekend box office was topped by Act Of Valour, a Relativity Media action flick starring real, active-duty US Navy SEALs.
The film - which was made in collaboration with the Navy and sought to demonstrate the skill and bravery of the SEALs - earned 24.7 million dollars, according to studio estimates on Sunday.
Tyler Perry's Good Deeds, a more dramatic offering for the consistently popular Perry, opened in second place with a healthy 16 million, and Journey 2: The Mysterious Island was in third with 13.5 million dollars.
Mamma Mia star Amanda Seyfried's new movie, Gone, also opened in the States this weekend. The thriller took in five million dollars to secure ninth place.
