Aronofsky focuses on Washington
Darren Aronofsky is set to make a new film about former US president George Washington.
The Black Swan director will produce and direct The General for Paramount Pictures, Variety reported.
The story, scripted by Adam Cooper and Bill Collage, is being kept tightly under wraps, but will focus on the life of Washington and sources claim it will be more in the style of Clint Eastwood's Western drama Unforgiven, than a straight biopic.
Darren is working on an epic drama about Noah's ark, with Russell Crowe attached to the lead role, which is due to begin filming this summer for release next year.
He has also shown an interest in The Weinstein Co's Judy Garland biopic Get Happy, with Anne Hathaway attached to star. It is not known if he will shoot The General or Get Happy first after work on Noah is completed.
